IVY AMELIA is a boutique business dedicated to breeding the exotic and fun Papils
Papillions are known for being highly intelligent, active and loving. Small and petite they are not suitable for very young children. {children should be at least 8 years of age}
HISTORY Papillions are one of the oldest breeds. It is believed Papillions have been around for over 600 years ago. The name Papillion comes from the French word butterfly because of their upright ears, sometimes the ears will be down and they will then be called Phalenes, meaning moth. Marie Antonette loved her Papillions!
PPAPILLONS THE SOCIAL BUTTERFLYS
Ivy Amelia takes pride in producing exceptional puppies that are healthy happy, with good temprements. From birth our puppies are part of the family and raised with lots of love and cuddles. Healthy happy parents = healthy happy pups.
Ivy Amelia (about us.) “Behind every amazing Papillon is an obedient owner”
Hi my name is Aileen along with my daughter Gabrielle (The obedient owners)Papillons are so intelligent they are more than dogs they are tiny fur people. It is impossible to have just 1 Like chocolates You have to have more they quickly become an addiction.
Enjoy your best friend and his lifetime of love for you.
USEFUL INFORMATION
Dogs are pack animals and there can only be 1 leader. Papillons because of their high intelligence, can easily take over the household with him as the boss. To avoid this there is a few simple rules.
Do not allow your dog to walk out in front. The dog must walk beside you, not in front. I suggest holding the lead in your right hand and then passing the lead also over to your left, with the dog walking at your left side. This in effect is giving you greater control if he decides to take off. At every corner he must sit after the verbal word and hand gesture. Waiting until he then receives the command to walk on. At every stage of obedience he is to receive a smile, pat and “Good Boy”. Paps love to please and they will be happy with your encouragement. It truly works miracles. PATIENCE, is needed. Do not get angry they will become agitated and upset. Training time he will think I am going to get in trouble and yelled at. Remember he is only just learning human words.
Dogs sense of smell is 600 times greater than man’s and this is how they learn about each other. So it is important they have there sniff time. Stopping at trees and having a good sniff around is natural and interesting for them.
Eventually you will have your routine and training time. Even meal times he can be made to sit (not too long) and wait for the command to eat.
The more obedient your Papillon is the better he will like it. Dogs love routine and they love you. So be patient.
Do not allow your Pap to sit on your shoulders or head. Again it is a bid for being the boss.
